‘THE STATION’ project is officially over and although i never thought i would be saying those words – i have actually done it in time for deadline, essay and all.
Although the post-essay trauma is still a little strong i feel i can reflect on what i’ve learned over the intense six weeks. For a start i learning about PHP and MySQL has been very useful. I essentially have the knowledge to go out and create a basic online social networking site (with video uploads!), something i wouldn’t of contemplated be able to achieve at the start of the year. Learning the PHP code has also allowed me to tweak my personal website (http://www.ejacksononline.co.uk) and create more dynamic feedback forms.
It’s been fun to build, although some of the theory has made me paranoid in thinking that nothing i create is free from copyright infringement, and now i’ll take that knowledge one step further as we move into the games project. Looking forward to it.
